Here is some writing from the students about our Winter Carnival at South Devon - February 2012 Maxwell "Hockey is fun at our school because we had all of the good players. We won the game and the score was 15-1 and this is the rules to play. You hang on to the stick. There is a ball. There is a net too." Keegan "I went to tug of war and I went to Mountain Climbing. It's just a pile of snow." Shane "I played tug of war. The first team we played, I was on Evan's team. We beat the 3-5's. This is how you do it. You tug a rope and there is a line. If you pass the line, you win a point. But we did it in the snow. We won!" Liam "I went to the snow hill." Breea "I went on the snow mountain for the Winter Carnival. It was awesome fun. I wish we could do it one thousand times a year but we probably could not. We would get hungry. Mountain Climbing is to climb a big pile of snow that is on top of each other." Perry "Today is Winter Carnival Day. First I played tug of war. We have more people so we won three times in a row. We have to pull the rope as strong as you can. When the teacher calls out who won whoever has the most points then won the game." Zachory "Today was Winter Carnival. I did Mountain Climbing. I fell off 11 times! Mountain Climbing is a big hill and a hill is lots of snow. I was at the top of the hill and I had to jump off, so I did." Alex "Today is crazy hair day and Outdoor Activities. Tug of War was cool. My team won twice! Maxwell was on my team. There is a rope and a flag and you pull the rope." Kifaya "I went on the parachute. Miss Flynn got the parachute first, we made a tent. We all shook the parachute and we sat inside the parachute. Me and a girl danced inside, it was fun." Evan "Today I played tug of war. Shane played with me. It was a lot of fun. We beat the grade threes to fives, we beat them 5-0. It was awesome." Taylor "At the Winter Carnival I played tug of war. It was so fun! How you play tug of war is you have a rope and there are teams. Then you pull on the rope! There is as pink string and if the pink string goes on your side you win! This was the fun day!" Ryan "In Mountain Climbing you climb up to the top of the mountain and jump off the top and I went to the top of the mountain." Christina "I went on the obstacle course. First you have to go through the tube and then you have to cross the monkey bars and you run to the bean bags, put one on your head, go in and out of the cones. You put the bean bags in another basket then grab a ball a shoot in the basketball net."
